Adam Blake Named Artistic Director

BOSTON, MA – Adam Blake named Artistic Director for Theatre On Ice of Boston for 2016-2017 season and joins Club coaching staff.

Adam Blake joins The Skating Club of Boston as Artistic Director for Theatre On Ice of Boston for the 2016-2017 season and joins the Club coaching staff. Adam’s style of skating and choreography has been described as passionate, hard-hitting, and impactful. His proficient knowledge of trick skating maneuvers like cantilevers, boot slides, and backflips gives him a unique spin on traditional figure skating. Adam first started choreographing group productions at age 16. He then began to expand his knowledge of movement, learning all types of dance: hip hop, tap, street jazz, popping, locking, tutting, modern, contemporary, and swing. He toured for two years as a semi-principal skater with High School Musical the was promoted to Principal and Line Captain with Disney on Ice Presents: 100 Years of Magic. In 2011, Adam was the winner of the second Young Artists Showcase choreography competition. From there he was the assistant choreographer to Cindy Stuart for the two recent Disney on Ice shows. His most recent work includes choreography for the World Champion Kimmie Meissner, the Volkswagen Winter Spectaculars, Worlds Opening Ceremonies, Numerous USFS Champion Gala numbers, The 146 Edition of the Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Circus, and the conception and production of his own company Ice Cold Combos.
